The Workforce Investment Board has primary responsibility for setting the strategic direction for the One-Stop System, and for ensuring that it is in alignment with State and Federal goals and principles.
To carry out this responsibility, the Workforce Investment area must have a comprehensive One-Stop Career Center that serves as the central component of the One-Stop System servicing residents and employers. ALL services are free of charge. The Camden County One-Stop Career Center is strategically located at 2600 Mt. Ephraim Ave, Suites 101-105, Camden, NJ 08104, ensuring easy access and offers a full array of services. One-Stop Career Centers are managed by a One-Stop Operator who coordinates the work of the center's parterning agencies. For More information call Toll fee 1-877-995-2600

Employment Facilitation Update
§ The committee approved two versions of the Employer Flyer for distribution and commended Frank Filipek Jr., Assistant Manager, Camden County Resource Center for his assistance in the development of the flyer.
§ Members agreed it is incumbent on the One-Stop and partnering agencies to provide the services as advertised in the flyer. During this economic downturn while many employers are not currently hiring; it is necessary to provide employers access to services that will assist them in difficult economic periods as well as booming periods. Recognizing the need to service several populations; including TANF, GA, Adult and now the dislocated worker both mid and high level professionals, it was determined that Howard Miller will serve as the employer contact at the One-Stop. Howard has a vast knowledge of working with employers, CBO’s and faith based agencies to ensure they are familiar with the services offered at the One-Stop. Howard has served as the point person conducting customized tours of the One-Stop.
Next Steps:
- Send PDF File to Art Campbell for inclusion in the Chamber’s e-newsletter
- Direct placement of the flyer at the county store locations, county libraries, colleges and technical schools
- Distribute flyer to attendees of the Partners meeting
- Pam Berman agreed to serve as a “Mystery Shopper” by calling the One-Stop based on the information contained in the flyer. She will request a tour of the One-Stop and report back to the committee her experience and impression of the value of the information received.
- Howard Miller will be asked to track employer requests and identify those employers who were prompted to call after receiving the flyer.
- Additional suggestions for marketing the One-Stop services to employers include:
- Host a panel employer breakfast to explain the no-cost services
- Attend Chamber sponsored events to distribute and network with area employers. Events are held at the Coastline each Tuesday and the Pub the first Wednesday of each month.
- Contact Lloyd Fishman at the County and post the flyer on the WIB’s link
- Consider posting the flyer on non-traditional web sites such as Tweeter and Facebook.
- Participate in the Youth Round Table meetings.
