Supporting the Development and Retention of a World Class Workforce

The Camden County WIB works to support the efforts of local and regional partners in the development of programs and services that benefit county residents.  The following is a list of current projects and grants:

Opportunity Re-Connect- Walter Rand Institute This grant will assist in the reduction of recidivism by offering participants full access to the resources, services and support they need as they transition into a stable life.   $150,000 02/09

WRI Second Chance Re-Entry Funding This program will address offender intergration and will work with local parole, probation, social services and local faith and community based organizations and will connect individuals to our One-Stop Career Center and enusure that clients are linked to appropriate services such as; supportive case management services, living skills, employment, vocational, educational readiness and substance abuse services county-wide. HHS-CED Grant Opportunity  This project will address the need of Camden's continuing economic development revitalization bringing a state of the art, green manufacturing plant to the city providing employment opportunities to local residents. TBD 05/09

NJLWD Project Connect Category 2 Create jobs for hard-to-employ individuals, develop employment skills, assist with Civics/ ESL preparation, and inform customers of the services avaliable at the One-Stop's Career Center.   TBD 07/09
UOSS for Project Connect Entry Services Catergory I This project will launch unemployed onward toward greater paths of self-sufficency and living wage work, and bring the human capital necessary to strengthen the region's workforce in a manner in which it will be valued. 07/09

Health Care Sector and Other High Growth Emerging Industries Camden County College  A collaborative of the CCC and major County Hospitals including Virtua, Lourdes, Cooper and Underwood as well as non-profit agencies to provide programs in hospitality, technology, and health information occupations. $5,000,000 08/09
