Purpose / Goal: The Camden City Initiatives Committee is to take the lead in developing the plan for conducting focus groups in Camden City. Its mission is to more fully understand issues related to suppressed demand and customer communications in line with the US Department of Transportation’s goals of quality customer service, increased access, cost efficiencies and a more integrated system for meeting human service transportation needs. The focus groups should outreach to a wide array of organizations and individuals and will most likely involve varying levels of leadership in the community while others may be directed to grass root organizations. At a minimum, participants should include Camden City officials, neighborhood and community organizations, municipal workers, Case Managers, Intake Workers and other individuals who have direct customer contact. Discussion Guides will be prepared for each of the focus groups. Consideration may also be given to conducting interviews directly with consumers. The planning will be facilitated by the CCWIB’s Transportation Project Manager along with technical support from Rutgers’s Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center who will provide the background, research and technical expertise in support of these planning efforts.
